By creating an account or using any service provided by Energy Wallet Services NG, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Privacy Policy. This Policy is designed in accordance with applicable Nigerian laws including requirements issued by the NDPC, CBN, EFCC, NFIU, and other competent authorities.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only information reasonably necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, maintain platform security, prevent fraud, and improve user experience:

  • Identity Data including full name, BVN, NIN, date of birth, and KYC information.
  • Contact Data including phone number, email address, and residential or business address.
  • Transaction Data including wallet transactions, transfers, withdrawals, bill payments, token records, marketplace purchases, and settlement records.
  • Technical Data including IP address, device identifiers, operating system, login history, and security logs.
  • Behavioural Data including app usage activity, navigation patterns, interaction metrics, and customer support engagement.
  • Vendor and Marketplace Data including store information, product listings, delivery records, customer communications, and dispute records.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your information for lawful business and regulatory purposes including:

  • identity verification and KYC compliance;
  • transaction processing and wallet management;
  • fraud prevention and security monitoring;

4. BVN and Identity Verification

Your BVN and identity information are collected strictly for lawful identity verification, anti-money laundering obligations, fraud prevention, and compliance purposes. Your identity information is securely protected through access controls and appropriate security safeguards. Energy Wallet Services NG does not disclose BVN information to unauthorized parties.

5. Financial Data Processing

Energy Wallet Services NG does not collect, store, process, or transmit debit card or credit card information. Wallet funding, transfers, and related financial activities are processed through secure banking infrastructure and approved financial partners.

6. Third-Party Data Processors

We may share limited information with trusted service providers only where necessary for platform operations. These may include identity verification providers; banking and payment partners; utility and bill payment aggregators; cloud hosting providers; communication providers; and logistics partners where applicable. We require all partners to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security standards.

7. Data Retention Schedules

Energy Wallet Services NG retains personal data only for the period necessary to fulfill operational, legal, regulatory, security, audit, and compliance obligations. Transaction and financial records may be retained for a minimum of five (5) years; KYC records for a minimum of five (5) years after account closure; user profile data for one (1) year after account closure; technical logs for a minimum of ninety (90) days; and dispute and fraud records for as long as necessary. Upon expiration of applicable retention periods, records may be securely deleted, anonymized, archived, or destroyed.

8. Your Rights Under the NDPA and NDPR

Subject to applicable Nigerian law, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Access your personal data;
  • Right to Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Right to Erasure subject to lawful retention obligations;
  • Right to Restrict Processing where applicable;
  • Right to Object to certain forms of processing;
  • Right to Data Portability in a structured and machine-readable format; and
  • Right to Lodge Complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or other competent authority.

9. Security of Information
